Finding a safe and convenient place to park your car is one of the first steps to a hassle-free journey. Cape Town International Airport (CPT) offers a variety of parking options to suit every need, whether you’re dropping someone off, going on a short business trip, or taking a long-overdue vacation. All parkades are designed with your security and convenience in mind.

Before you leave your vehicle, take a quick photo of your parking bay number and level. It’s easy to forget where you parked after a long trip, and this simple trick can save you a lot of time and frustration upon your return!

Parking Options at Cape Town Airport

The airport has several parkades and areas, each tailored for different lengths of stay. Airport parking tariffs range for each space.

P1 – Short Stay Parkade

Located closest to the Central Terminal, P1 is the premium choice for quick drop-offs, pick-ups, or for those on a very short trip. It offers covered parking with the most direct access to the terminal building.

  • Best for: Stays under 24 hours, meeting & greeting.
  • Access: Direct walking access to the terminal.

P2 – Multi-Storey Parkade

This is a great all-round option, providing a balance of convenience and value. It’s located just behind P1 and is ideal for weekend trips or short holidays. It is also fully covered and within easy walking distance of the terminal.

  • Best for: Weekend getaways, short business trips.
  • Access: Easy walking distance to the terminal.

P3, P4 & P5 – Long Stay / Shaded Parking

For travelers going away for an extended period, the long-stay parkades offer the most economical rates. While further from the terminal, these areas provide safe and secure parking for the duration of your trip. Some areas are shaded to protect your vehicle from the sun.

  • Best for: Long holidays, budget-conscious travelers.
  • Access: May require a slightly longer walk; follow the directional signs.

Pick-up & Drop-off Zone

For quick drop-offs, you can use the dedicated lane outside the terminal entrance. Please note that this is strictly for immediate drop-off and go. No waiting is permitted to ensure traffic flows smoothly. For pick-ups, it is recommended to use the 30-minute free parking in Parkade 1.

Accessible Parking

Designated parking bays for passengers with disabilities are available in the most convenient locations within the parkades, primarily in P1 and P2. A valid disability permit must be clearly displayed on your vehicle.

Payment Information

Keep your parking ticket with you and do not leave it in your car. Before returning to your vehicle, make payment at one of the clearly marked pay stations located within the terminal building. Payment can be made with cash or a credit/debit card.
